General Update
Written by Sprittibee on April 28, 2007 – 7:52 pm -We have everyone’s winner info and the prize awarders should be dispersing the booty as I type. I’m glad to have been able to be part of these awards. I am looking forward to our *improved* awards for 2007. We are going to start interviewing some of the winning sites and bringing you personal and inside information about some of your favorite bloggers. We are also going to be adding a few new Awards Team members here at the HSBA site. I look forward to introducing you to them soon. If you are interested in joining us, please let me know via email at hsbawards@gmail.com - come join us! We need a few warm-blooded bloggers on the team.

One is the loneliest number…..
Written by Sprittibee on April 25, 2007 – 5:04 am -O Night Divine is our last missing winner. We just need someone from O Night Divine to contact us at HSBA so we can make sure you get your prizes. Due to the fact that you are a group blog, I’ll let you guys work out how you would like to split the prizes up! I don’t want to be involved in a cat fight! I’m sure you can come to some sort of agreement.
I hope you will all visit the Homeschool Carnival today that I have up over at my personal blog: Sprittibee.
We are in the process of trying to get the sidebars fixed and do some housekeeping here at the Homeschool Blog Awards. Hopefully we can get these things corrected promptly. I apologize for the construction mess.
Be sure to continue your prayers for Heather (who is on her way to the Mayo Clinic right now)… and be back in here in a few days when I hope to bring you an interview with one of the winning sites!

Written by Sprittibee on April 24, 2007 – 4:05 am -I’ve been a little preoccupied with the Homeschool Carnival. So, if you ladies would like prizes, please contact me pronto! Everyone else, please hop over to do a mini-unit-study on Bees tomorrow and read the many links by lots of other talented blogging homeschoolers.

Prize Awarders and Winners Update
Written by Sprittibee on April 21, 2007 – 5:47 pm -There are still three people I don’t have information on…
- Bioluminescence
- O Night Divine
- Danielle Bean
If you know how to get in touch with these ladies, please shoot them an email and let them know that they are NOT on the prize list yet. I’m shooting the rest of you guys over to the prize awarders today via email (just as soon as I get back from the birthday party my kids have to attend).
If you know how to fix Word Press templates and wish to join me as a team member here at HSBA, please email me at hsbawards@gmail.com! I’m looking for a few helpers that can go forward with HSBA towards making the 2007 Blog Awards even better than the 2006 ones.
Please continue to keep Heather in your prayers as she heads out to the Mayo Clinic. Boomama has set up a charity fund to help her with travel and medical expenses if you would like to donate. Drop Heather a line and let her know you are praying for her at her blog.
Have a super weekend!

Winner Icon
Written by Sprittibee on April 19, 2007 – 11:21 pm -Hey all. I still have two or three winners to gather info from. I think one of them may be on vacation this week. Hopefully I’ll hear from them soon. Prize info will be delivered regardless to the prize awarders this Friday (tomorrow). If there’s someone left out, we will catch that later. I just don’t want to hold up the rest of the list. Here is your lovely graphic to post if you won something! Please put it on your blog! Sorry that it doesn’t have category names on it. Heather made these up before we began the awards and I just don’t have the heart to bother her with making graphics right now. You can set it up similar to how mine are set up in my sidebar, however… go see my sidebar here.
Please download this graphic to your own graphics hosting site or computer. Here it is:

NEED YOUR INFO
Written by Sprittibee on April 18, 2007 – 4:18 am -We are still waiting for a few of the winners to get us their information so we can forward it to the prize awarders.
HERE’s WHO WE NEED:
Best Curriculum/Business and Best Mom Blog: Real Learning
Best Artistic Content Blog: Bioluminescence
Best Homeschool Family or Group Blog: O Night Divine
Best Encourager, Best Live-What-You-Believe and Best Crafts and Plans: Cottage Blessings
Best Homemaking or Recipe Blog: Large Family Logistics
Please email us as quickly as possible so it won’t hold up prizes for the rest of the group. If you know these ladies, please shoot them a reminder email. I was able to send most of them a comment via their blog, but I am not sure one or two had comments available.
We also were made aware that a few of our links were not clickable and some prize info was incorrect. Those updates have since been made and the prize list is up to date as far as we know.
Also, because the nominations page is not a clickable tab on top of the site yet, I’m providing you with a link here to go CHECK OUT THE NOMINEES!
In Him,

2006 Prizes!
Written by Sprittibee on April 16, 2007 – 5:32 pm -Not every prize category is exactly the same due to the fact that we had many prize awarders that chose to offer a prize for just one particlar category. Everyone got something, though! We tried to spread it out to make it fair. We look forward to getting an early start this November with the requesting of prizes so that we can have the 2007 prize sheet posted DURING the nominations and voting! We are sorry that the list was done later this go-around. The whole awards have gone from idea to nearly finished in a mind numbing short few weeks! We hope the winners are happy with their prizes and that next year we will have even more awarders, nominees, and participation!
HERE ARE SOME IMPORTANT NOTES FOR THE WINNERS and PRIZE GIVERS:

Thanks!
Written by Sprittibee on April 14, 2007 – 4:07 pm -Polls are now closed. I am looking forward to getting the final vote count done and announcing the winners this week! I am still getting prize information in from participants (last night I got two more prize confirmation emails from two more businesses). I’ll be working on getting a prize-giver blogroll up today and putting the list of prizes up on one of the tabs up on top of the site! Check back to see what the winners are going to get!
In November, we will once again be asking for prize donations (a little earlier this time - per request!) and you can make nominations for 2007 in December. We are looking forward to having a much better organized and tightly put together contest for the 2007 Homeschool Blog Awards. Until then, we plan to interview the winning bloggers and prize givers and run a few contests. We hope to continue to serve the homeschool community as we go forward.
Thanks again for your help in making the 2006 “belated” Blog Awards a success.

Just a few hours now… HURRY and VOTE.
Written by Sprittibee on April 13, 2007 – 10:30 pm -I recently was asked the exact time tonight when the polls would close. I realized that I had not specified the time zone up front. I went ahead and made it for Pacific Time to allow the most hours to vote tonight. So, when the clock strikes twelve in San Francisco tonight, the polls will automatically close. Thanks so much for everyone’s outpouring of love for Heather, for your prayers for her and her family, and for the participation and support you have offered to us in this fun learning experience. Hopefully the 2007 Homeschool Blog Awards in December this year will be even better now that we have an idea of what can be made better.
Thanks so much and be checking back next week for announcements as to the final winners and prizes!
In Him,

Mistakes, Voting Discrepancies and Last Day to Vote
Written by Sprittibee on April 13, 2007 – 3:04 am -Thank you to all who have participated and helped with the Homeschool Blog Awards. We are grateful and humbled by the outpouring of support and prayers for Heather. She is a terrific mother, web designer and blogger - a true inspiration to all of us. Her assistance in these awards was invaluable and prayers on her behalf are the best thanks we could ever receive.
Our interest in these awards has been to:
1. Serve the homeschool community.
2. Provide a way to network with other homeschoolers in the blogosphere.
3. Thank the moms, dads and teens who provide a positive voice for homeschoolers on the internet.
4. Spotlight prize donators for their contribution to homeschooling.
We believe we have accomplished that goal. This has been a challenging week for all of us. Not just because of Heather, but because we have never done these awards before. The learning curve is high and needless to say, we’ve made a few mistakes along the way. We now realize that the rules were a bit ambiguous and caused some confusion. We regret the confusion and frustration that some may have felt and will apply what we have learned to make next year’s awards even better.
It would have been easy at times just to cancel the awards and try again next year, but as most homeschoolers have realized at one point or another, quitting is just not an option. So we decided that seeing this through to the finish was our best and only choice.
By God’s grace, we’re nearing the finish line. The voting is almost over. We will tally the votes and verify the results as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, there have been some attempts at multiple voting, so the vote is not final until we have verified all IP’s and stated the winners. If we find instances of multiple voting, ALL votes from that IP will be deleted, not just the multiple votes. We thank you in advance for your patience as we attempt to complete the awards in a timely way.
In Christ,
