Do you ever find yourself astonished by God? Does He answer your prayers, spoken or not, and just take you by surprise? That’s happened countless times in my life, and after awhile, I began to think that I shouldn’t be so caught off-guard. He IS God after all. The same God who parted the Red Sea (Exodus 14:13-31). The same God who caused the sun to stand still (Joshua 10:12-14). Obviously, His power has no bounds, so why should I continue to be surprised? Just about the time I started to think that I shouldn’t be surprised, God showed me that I was heading down the wrong path. I believe that God really enjoys blowing my socks off. If I don’t remain in awe of my holy and wondrous God, I can become apathetic and begin to take Him for granted. That’s the last thing I should ever do.
